The so-called “Dreamers” or the DACA children, prove yet again that they are clueless about practically everything. Now, a group of illegal aliens is ironically fighting to stay in the United States by threatening to leave even after President Trump and his team refused to extend Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) .
Illegals now are threatening to leave the country if they are not offered a full legal residency permit and U.S. citizenship.
Alex Velez, one of the DACA “Dreamers” stated her intentions to leave America ASAP in an interview for the CNN. Velez claimed that she would much rather leave the United States now than wait to be deported later.
She seems very concerned about her honor now, but where was that honor when she decided to stay in the country illegally and to do nothing about that for years.According to a report from Fox News: “The Trump administration was facing a Tuesday deadline to make a decision on DACA or face legal action by Republican state AGs who hoped to force the president’s hand in discontinuing the program.
A day earlier, Sessions sent Duke a letter with his legal determination that the 2012 executive action was unconstitutional. Administration officials cast their approach Tuesday at the least disruptive option.”
The report goes on to say that President Trump issued a statement in which he noted that even though there will be no acceptance of new applications for work permits, “all existing work permits will be honored until their date of expiration up to two full years from today.”
In addition to this he also said that applications in the pipeline will be processed. Trump stated “This is a gradual process, not a sudden phaseout.” Continuing to say “permits will not begin to expire for another six months, and will remain active for up to 24 months. Thus, in effect, I am not going to just cut DACA off, but rather provide a window of opportunity for Congress to finally act.”The President gave a promise to find a solution for the problem “with heart and compassion,” only this time working through Congress.
Even though, he began his presidential term with a firm intention to terminate DACA, it appears that Trump has soften his stance since then an now after delaying the end of the program for six months, he places the burden on Congress to pass a legislative fix.
No current beneficiaries will be affected before March 5, 2018, according to DHS.
The President even shared a tweet on his Twitter account, saying “Congress, get ready to do your job – DACA!”
Even though there are a few Republicans who support the DACA program, the majority of them have opposed it, saying that this use of an executive action is a “presidential overreach”.One of the the Republicans who stood in support of the so-called “Dreamers” is Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C.
In a statement he expressed his beliefs saying : “I have always believed DACA was a presidential overreach,” explaining, “However, I equally understand the plight of the Dream Act kids who — for all practical purposes — know no country other than America.”
Administration officials confirmed on a conference call, on Tuesday that they are still prioritizing criminal aliens for deportation. They also said that the original DACA criteria were very broad and cited the legal determination of the Justice Department.
In the beginning, Donald Trump referred to DACA, during his presidential campaign back in 2016, as “illegal amnesty.” but since then, it looks like he had a change of heart and in April last year, he told the Associated Press that DACA recipients could “rest easy.”This threat to leave is just a classic, childish behavior that these so-called “Dreamers” have a tendency to display. Apparently they think, that the country fill be devastated if they leave, but in reality they might be doing everybody a favor.
