A 77-year-old farmer, Gene Hanson decided to give NFL players a lesson for disrespecting the national anthem with their kneeling stunt and their so-called social justice fight. The farmer wanted his message to provoke much attention, so he used what he knew best and what was at his disposal, his own 850-acre farm in Nebraska. He took his time and waited for the harvest season to end, when his plan could be carried out perfectly.
Hanson took his tractor and plowed an amazing message to all those who disdain the American values.
His message was short and precise : “We stand for the National Anthem.”
Immediately after the picture of the letters written on a surface bigger than two football fields, hit the social media it went viral. It became so popular that it even caught the President’s attention.
When Trump saw the picture, he sent out a message of his own on his Twitter account saying “Thank you Gene Hanson – a GREAT American (and farmer) who is standing up for our flag, our anthem, and our country!”. He also shared the link to the original article written about this farmer and his patriotic message.
According to Fox News: Farmer Gene Hanson of Edgeley, North Dakota has a message for the NFL: “We stand for the National Anthem.”
The 77-year-old Midwesterner plowed that phrase into his bean crops – a massive message spanning the length of two football fields – in response to the controversial protest undertaken by some NFL players who’ve begun kneeling during the playing of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”Reportedly, Hanson said for Fox News “I go with [President] Trump on this one,”adding “If you want to protest, that’s not the place to do it.”
The farmer explained : “A lot of people died over our flag. We’re able to voice our opinion because of it. If you’re going to show respect for anything, do it for the national anthem.”
As the report suggests, this is not the first time Hanson has used his 850-acre farm to convey a message using his old Massey tractor.
He does this with no help from GPS or any other technology. He tests his designs by flying with his two-seater plane, and if he has done a good job, he takes a picture with his Cannon camera and posts it on Facebook. Reportedly he has failed only a couple of times. The 77-year-old man told the Fox News he got his “We Stand for the National Anthem” message right on the second try.
According to him, his initial intention was to add an addendum We kneel at the cross but the plan was ruined by the first frost of the season.
He said if the weather allows him, he still plans on adding that phrase. He and his wife Darlene, are Lutherans who go to church regularly. Hanson has said of himself that he is also a Republican and Trump supporter.
He stated his belief that the President means well, but unfortunately faces a “continuous battle” in Washington, D.C..
The farmer also said that he is doing everything he can to show his support from his farm. According to the report, some of his previous messages include Drain the Swamp Blue Lives Matter Feel the Bern GOP get your act together and Vote Trump. Never Hillary”This elderly farmer taught everybody, not just the NFL a valuable lesson. So many of our ancestors have died for our freedoms and our flag, and for any American to disrespect these sacred symbols means a disgrace for the whole nation.
