A team of firefighters reportedly responded Wednesday afternoon to a fire at former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s house in Chappaqua, New York. The news was first shared by The Journal News, a newspaper based in nearby White Plains, New York.
Initial reports indicated the fire started in a bedroom, and it has since been extinguished.
The Clintons have owned the Chappaqua residence since 1999, according to Business Insider, and in September 2016, Hillary Clinton purchased the property next door for $1.16 million.
The Clintons have lived in the first New York house, located at 15 Old House Lane, for almost 20 years. They purchased it for $1.7 million.
While Bill and Hillary Clinton are hoping to move back into the White House after Election Day, the political pros have decided to make a purchase in the meantime. The former POTUS and the hopeful future-POTUS just dropped $1.16 million on the property next door to their current home in Chappaqua, NY: A 3,631-square-foot, three-bedroom, three and a half bathroom ranch style home on a 1.5-acre lot.Located next to the home they’ve owned since 1999, the Clintons’ new home sits just outside the center of town on a unique cul-de-sac, and is the perfect spot for daughter Chelsea and her husband, Marc, to visit with the Clintons’ grandchildren, Charlotte and Aidan, when they’re not in their hometown of New York, NY. With an open floor plan, pecan flooring and a modern chef’s kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances, the cozy quarters are the perfect spot for visiting family, or even an overflow of Secret Service members. The kitchen flows to an open eating area with a cozy fireplace that leads into a family room with built-in cabinetry. In the master suite, a newly redone bathroom is complemented by two spacious walk-in closets, which would fit plenty of Hillary’s vivacious pantsuit collection!
Outside, rolling lawns and mature trees are nestled next to stone walls and an in-ground pool, perfect for family birthday parties and BBQs. Because can’t you just imagine Bill flipping veggie burgers in a chef hat and apron? Either way, this new property is much more modest than the Clintons’ 2011 rental in the luxe town of East Hampton, NY. When the Clintons rented, the 12,000-square-foot estate was also on the market for $25 million. That rivals the 2011 price tag of President Barack Obama’s frequently-visited Martha’s Vineyard vacation rental: $23.7 million! Oh, to be President…
Chelsea Clinton and her investment banker husband Marc Mezvinsky are trading up in New York City! The duo recently purchased a $10+ million condo and are now listing their nearly $5 million pad. They bought their new place in a secure building on East 26th Street for $10.5 million in March 2013, which led them to list their former home nearby for $4,475,000. The moving van didn’t have to go far, as the couple moved just a stone’s throw from their former condo. In fact, both buildings are located in the stunning Flatiron District and have views of Madison Square Park.
According to The Real Deal, this for-sale condo actually belonged exclusively to Chelsea’s husband, who bought it in 2008 for $4 million. The couple had been living there since their $3 million 2010 nuptials until they finally moved on – and up – to their fabulous new $10M pad!
According to the listing, the full-service, 3 bedroom home at the Grand Madison “has a well laid out floor plan that is perfectly suited to entertaining and gracious living.” An open chef’s kitchen has top-of-the-line appliances and the large master bedroom has generous closets and a luxurious marble en-suite bath with double sinks and separate steam shower and soaking tub.

She also has a contract with NBC to do pieces that “make a difference.”
